In the story The Wooden Shoes of Little Wolff the little child was sent to a good school as Wolff’s aunt was known for having her own house and a stocking full of gold. The child was not treated equally in the school. The schoolmaster would treat him very badly as the little boy was so meanly clad and use to make fun of him. The little boy use to feel so sad that he use to cry a lot by hiding himself in the corners of the street. It was the time of Christmas and on the eve of the Christmas the schoolmaster was supposed to take all his pupils to the midnight mass, and then to conduct them home again to their parents' houses.
It was sever cold and the boys gathered warmly wrapped up with fur caps drawn down over their ears, padded jackets, gloves and knitted mittens, and thick soled shoes. Only the little boy came wearing his thin everyday clothes, and wearing on his feet socks and wooden shoes. All the boys marched towards the church and made fun of the dress and The Wooden Shoes of Little Wolff. All the boys were merrily celebrating the Christmas Eve but Wolff was very sad as he knew that he will have to retire to his bed without any dinner. The party ended and all the boys marched back towards their houses. On the way there was lying a child with bare feet no one cared of him and passed without any concern. Little Wolff felt pity for the stranger and drew off the wooden shoe from his right foot, placed it before the sleeping child. He went back to home and told all when his aunt enquired about the shoes. Later in the story The Wooden Shoes of Little Wolff the child was blessed with all Christmas gifts for the strange child whom he gave his shoes was none other but the Christ child himself.
