Santa and the Mouse is a fun story of the Santa Claus and a house mouse, popular among young children. Narrated in a verse style, the Santa and the Mouse is written in the usual festive spirit of the Christmas season.
The story revolves around one Christmas evening, when Santa Claus came visiting one of the houses and he encounters a mouse who used to live in that house. They greet each other and the mouse which is very curious for Santa requests the latter if he could watch what Santa was doing. Santa Claus agrees and the mouse witnesses how Santa stuffs the Christmas stockings.

It is then that the mouse challenges Santa that there is still place to put one another thing. Off course, the Christmas stocking was fully stocked by then and there was hardly any place to put another gift. But Santa Claus indulges the mouse by asking the latter what he thought he could put in the Christmas Stocking.
This is when the cheeky mouse gnaws the toe of the stocking and puts a neat hole there. So all there was place for in the Christmas stocking was a hole! Santa Claus rather enjoys this joke and presents a piece of cheese to the mouse. A nice, fun story of the Santa and the Mouse for children to enjoy!
Another popular series written by Michael Brown is the series of Santa Mouse, where a mouse who loves the spirit of Christmas meets with Santa Claus. This is when the unnamed mouse decides to gift a piece of cheese to Santa, who pleased by the Mouse's generosity, decides to name him the Santa Mouse. The Santa Mouse, though all are not written by Brown, has become a popular figure in the Christmas celebrations all round the world, especially in United States.
