The Stahlabaum family in Germany is celebrating the Christmas party with great pomp and grandeur. The guests arrive for the party being organized in the houses. The children , Clara and Fritz are dancing and merrymaking. The godfather Drosselemeyer arrives and load the children with variety of toy gifts especially the life-size dolls. Clara and fritz also get their gifts. Clara get a beautiful Nutcracker prince. Her brother Fritz get jealous seeing the doll and snatches it from her. He breaks the doll. Clara cries and seeks help from Drosselemeyer. The godfathers pacifies the girl and repairs the doll with a handkerchief coming magically from the air.
The guests departed from the house after the party. The Stahlbaun family went to the sleep in the night. The look of the charming nutcracker prince remained in the heart of Clara. She dreams of the prince in the night. Suddenly she begins shuddering finding everything abnormal and out of order surrounding her. She finds her room filled with host of mice guided by the grotesque Mouse King. The Nutcracker wakes up and atttacks the Mice king with his toy armies. But the nutcracker failed to resist. Finally Clara throws her slippers to the Mouse King and he drops down to thefollr. His army mice fled away. After winning the battle the Nutcracker transforms into a real prince and takes Clara to the Land of Snow and Sweets. The dream ends and Clara awakens finding herself before the Christmas tree with her nutcracker doll lying before her.
