Children were all asleep. But their minds were full of expectation about gifts that would come down from Santa. Before going to bed all the children hung their stockings on the bedsteads hoping to receive a special gift from St. Nicholas.They had been good and kind through out the year and now it was the time to get rewarded. Rein deers drive his sleigh. You can hear the clinging of the harness bells. St. Nick is a chubby figure with beards as white as snow. With him are a group of eight rein deers together they move as fast as lightening. Over the years Santa has brought smile on every one's face. Once he lands on the floor from the chimney. He empties his gift bag and stacks up sweets and other gifts into the stockings of the children. He keeps a track of all the children and their behavior. Hence naughty children can not expect much on the Night Before Christmas. However those who have been kind to others can expect a lot of gifts.
Over the years across the world children grow up with such legendary stories on their mind.
