The Last Christmas Tree

|
The Last Christmas Tree by Howard D. Fencl is a celebrated christmas poetry. The poetry is a celebration of the spirit of festivity, merriment and fun that is associated with Christmas. The poem reminds us that Christmas is a manifestation of our inner happines and joy. Simultaneously it also reminds us that happiness and joy does not necessarily mean bestial pleasure and bestial joy. True happiness comes through peace is the real happiness. The Last Christmas Tree also shows that grandeur has nothing to do with true happiness. Happiness comes from inside.

It elaborates on the christmas principles of peace and compassion. It foregrounds the philosophy of simplicity. It proves that the notion for high objects and grandeur to celebrate joy is utterly wrong. True happiness comes from a heart that has peace, can feel for other, compassionate, has good will, and also has the power to forgive. The Last Christmas Tree narrates the pinciple that happiness comes when you can make others happy. The boy in the poem wants the best of the christmas trees for him. Even his parents devoted a huge time to search for the best christmas tree so that they can make their son more happy in this christmas. They wanted the tree to be so long as to pirece through the roof of their room. But another person gets the last of the christmas trees. Instead of decorating it, he puts it aside a cold wood. A reindeer came and stands under the tree after sometime. It was snowing heavily and the reindeer was looking for a shelter. The christmas tree serves as a shelter for the reindeer. The person brushed off the snow from this beard and saw a reinder standing under his tree.
Suddenly he heard the sound of bells jiggling from the sky. He looked for the tree man but coould not find him. The Last Christmas Tree ends with a typical sense of mystery and wonder that is typical for all christmas stories and poetries.
