‘Lights’ is an article on the glory of Christmas days, written by Joy Mixon, a married lady, who felt the God's heavenly presence in the Christmas lights. She confirmed and confessed the truth she had experienced once while in a tour. The writer herself identified the uncanny, unusual feeling, watching the Christmas lights as her dead father.

She wrote that her father died in April of 1997 after a 10 year battle with Cancer. In September, of that same year, she and her husband made their annual tour from Massachusetts to York, Maine for their wedding anniversary vacation, as most of her childhood days were spent in York, Maine. Her widow mother was also with them in that tour.
One day in York, they got delighted to see the Nubble Lighthouse, all aglow with white lights a little far from their cottage. And the Christmas tree inside the light-keepers house was aglow as well. But that time of year was not considered for these lights. So, that was an unusual occurrence, because, the Christmas lights were usually not put on until the Thanksgiving for the Christmas holidays were celebrated. Therefore, she thought that it was a true sign of her Dad's presence with them. In York, they were all together, enjoying a place which meant so much to them and meant so very much to her Dad. She thought that they were all being blessed with this beautiful gift of a Christmas light display in September!
The very next day, she went to the Visitor's Station and asked the hostess about this unusual occurrence they witnessed in the previous evening. But, the hostess denied the fact and was very much unaware that the lights had been going on for those two nights and very sternly answered that those lights shouldn’t be on. They don't usually go on until after Thanksgiving. Then she insisted the questioner to believe that they made a mistake.
But, that very night, Joy and her husband noticed that the lights which had been gracing the lighthouse had been turned off! So, the writer considered this incident as a lesson. It is that not to question the precious gifts from God!
